  1. World Theatre Day is annually celebrated worldwide on 27 March to promote the significance of theatre art forms across the world. The theme of World Theatre Day 2023 set by the International Theatre Institute is “Theatre and a Culture of Peace”.
  2. Purple Day of Epilepsy is an international day of awareness celebrated annually on 26 March with the goal of educating people about epilepsy, recognizing the signs of a seizure, and offering support to those who are impacted by it.  
  3. The United Nations 2023 Water Conference was held from 22-24 March, 2023 in New York, USA and co-hosted by the Governments of Tajikistan and the Netherlands.
  4. On 23 March 2023, National women’s hockey team midfielder Salima Tete was appointed as the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Athletes Ambassador from India for a term of two years.
  5. Union Power & NRE Minister R. K. Singh inaugurated the ‘National Conference on Biomass 3P-Pellet to Power to Prosperity’ in New Delhi on 24 March, 2023.
  6. Indian men’s and women’s teams defeated Nepal to clinch the Asian Kho Kho Championship titles held at Tamulpur in Assam, on 23 March 2023.
  7. Under India’s G20 Presidency, the Ministry of Tourism will organise the country’s first Global Tourism Investors’ Summit (GTIS) in New Delhi from 17-19 May, 2023. 
  8. During the One World TB Summit arranged by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on World Tuberculosis Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s powerful pharmaceutical industry as a significant advantage in the global battle against TB and mentioned that India has set a goal of eradicating TB by the year 2025.
  9. Shrimant Kokate, a well-known Marathi author and historian, has recently released his first English book titled ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (illustrated)’, which has been translated by Dilip Chavan.  
  10. Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar launched National Crop Insurance Portal (NCIP)’s digitized claim settlement module ‘DigiClaim’ in New Delhi on 23 March, 2023.
  11. Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal on 23 March 2023, launched the Real-time Performance Monitoring Dashboard ‘Sagar Manthan’.
  12. The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) has partnered with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the French Development Agency (AFD), and the European Union to organize the first-ever Urban Climate Film Festival as part of the CITIIS program under U20 engagement events. 
  13. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that the government will set up a sports university in the Kumaun region’s Haldwani town.  
  14. According to a report presented by UNESCO at the UN 2023 Water Conference in New York reveals that 26% of the global population lacks safe drinking water, while 46% do not have access to well-managed sanitation facilities. 
  15. The annual bilateral maritime exercise called Konkan 2023 was conducted between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Britain from 20 to 22 March, 2023 off the Konkan coast in the Arabian Sea.
  16. On 24 March 2023, Gordon Earle Moore, the co-founder of Intel Corporation in 1968 and author of Moore’s Law, passed away in Hawaii, USA at the age of 94.
